Hey folks... there's a few things we're changing from last year.. intead of making you guys hunt thru year-old posts for those changes, I'm just gunna put them here.

1. We will once again allow people to bring alcohol into the Room of Wrockquirement... but only for the dance parties.
That's the DANCE PARTIES, not the concerts themselves. We're doing this since it seemed that most people skipped the dance parties last year in favor of drinking back in the cabins. Well, the dance parties are part of what makes Wrockstock so much fun, it's one giant party that EVERYONE is welcome to attend, it's a great way to socialize without having to have a ton of people in your room or cabin.
All booze must be in a non-glass container with a spill-proof lid. Staffers will be authorized to ask you to dump out any drinks in open cups, bottles, etc... or at least go to your room and get an empty soda bottle or something....
no glass, no open containers, no coffee cups, no fast food cups... please. The Lodge sells cheap plastic sports bottles or bring your own.

2. Organized/Promoted Parties - Some fan groups, websites, blogs, etc have thrown parties in their cabins to celebrate their group or whatever... even though everyone had a great time and it was kept under control... those gatherings still got a little too large and a little too loud last year.
There's only so much room in the cabins and their porches and the parties last year ended up overflowing too close to where other people were sleeping, blocking people's way to their cabins, etc... so we kinda want do do away with these.
If you feel that it is VITAL to your organization to have some kind of "thing" at Wrockstock, email me and we'll discuss it.

3. Impromptu/Unscheduled Deck concerts - Not happening again unless Wrockstock decides we want to add something like that... If your band wants to play at Wrockstock, either wait to be invited to play the mainstage or sign up for the Willow. Those deck shows completely fouled up the schedule last year, so we're not doing it again. Too many people skipped meals, lost track of time, etc, etc and by the time Sunday afternoon rolled around, the entire event was two hours off schedule and we can't let it get that out of hand again.  Granted, the music and atmosphere was lovely, but still, it made for a lot more work for my already overworked staff and the staff of the Lodge.
Sorry, guys. We have the Willow for the very purpose of "bonus" acoustic shows, so let's use it.

Oh, and I'm contemplating creating a three strikes rule about people wearing their passes. I don't care if you're JK Rowling herself, you're not getting into the ROW or the Willow without YOUR pass visible on the outside of your clothing.
People who have to be asked repeatedly or give the Security team a hard time over this may run the risk of that pass being revoked entirely.... We have our reasons for requiring you all to wear your passes, guys... please respect that.

That's it for now.... Hope you're all making your plans and stuff!!!

What about doing music in our cabins? Is that okay? Because I'm pretty sure our cabin will be doing impromptu music stuffs, and...  Really, could you explain exactly what you mean by "deck shows" for people who have never been to Wrockstock? Thanks!

K... of course you guys can jam in your rooms and cabins as long as you're not bugging anyone else... but because of fire code, we can't allow any... concerts... or anything that might have a space be really, really overcrowded to happen inside the cabins. Come to think of it, those huge parties were a problem because of that reason as well.. aw hell.

The deck shows... there's a big dock/deck thing that stretches out onto the lake behind the main bulding. Some bands wanted to do acoustic shows out there during dinnertime so I allowed it, but it cause a ton of issues... as stated above.
It was REALLY nice... but people skipped dinner and then they were puking and passing out all night and it just sucked.
We really want to make sure you guys are eating and getting enough rest, because once someone hits a certain level of exhaustion, they break down mentally and then nobody's happy. We treat you guys like family when you're at Wrockstock... and Mamma's gunna make sure you eat. The Willow still has spots open if bands want to sign up to play acoustic...but they need to be wizard rock bands, of course.

Good? If you need more, say so. This forum is for you guys to ask your questions!

I'm not going to be able to go this year (saving all my money for Leaky), but I really hate the deck show rule.  The deck show Adam Dubberly did was hands-down my favorite moment of Wrockstock, and I hate there won't be the potential for that at this year's festival.  I mean there is the willow & the main stage, but you literally could not get that atmosphere anywhere else.  I never felt like their wasn't time to eat...

I get that, man... it was really nice... and we DID want to spend more time with Adam before he retired from wizard rock, which is why we did it in the first place.  But on our end, it caused more problems than it was worth. Trust me, I don't like this one that much either, but it's what best for everyone.
But since we don't have anyone retiring this year, there's really no need to go thru the hassle to do it again, anyway.
Sorry you can't make it back this year...
